NOTD OPI - Tomorrow Never Dies

Hello my lovelies! Anyone else struggling in the week and looking forward to lazy weekends?

Today I have one of the 5 Bond collection that I now own, I am not the type to buy all of one collection and I only go for what I know will suit me!

This was the one out of the 5 that really called to me!

The amazing 'Blurple' is actually quite a unique polish in my stash, all my blues are glittery!
This is a super shiny and amazing polish, it was love on application! Apart from the silly lumps on my middle and ring finger (but I have now discovered lint free nail polish remover pads!)

This was lovely to apply, 2 coats and wear was pretty amazing!

While this was not a duochrome it did change in different lights but my camera refused to pick up the purple tones in this polish!

The Bond collection is available now at http://www.lenawhite.co.uk/ but seeing as its so popular then it might not be round forever!

NOTD Leighton Denny Maroon Me Knot and OPI Serving Up Sparkle

One of my favourite polishes is this beauty from Leighton Denny but I do feel like it needs jazzing up like I did in this post but this time I went for more sparkles! I am such a magpie and after getting the gorgeous Serving Up Sparkle in a bargain set from TK Maxx I knew I had to try this!

Serving Up Sparkle is officially my new favourite top coat! It is tiny holo glitter in a clear base with larger holo hex glitter too!

The polish was buildable, this was 2 coats and the brush needed dipping in straight down to get hold of the larger bits of glitter!

But the effect is totally worth it, I kept this mani for a week and everytime I went in the sun I couldn't stop moving my nails about to catch the holo yumminess!

Wear was amazing, and I only took it off when I started getting growth at the cuticles but I had no chips and even tip wear was minimal, since I spend a lot of time on the lap top this is usually my biggest gripe with my polish!

Look at the colours, amazing or what?!

Serving Up Sparkle was part of the Serena Williams collection and hard to get now, I found mine in TK Maxx but you can get it here http://www.amazon.co.uk/OPI-Serena-Glam-Slam-Polish/dp/B0056K93MU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346775843&sr=8-1

NOTD OPI - Pompeii Purple

Bit of an odd one today! My eye just cannot detect a purple, even the duochrome flashes blue rather purple!

Still love it though, bright pink is a very me colour. The formula was good, 2 coats to opacity and wear was good, as you can see tipwear here but that was after 5 days!

Can you see purple? I see a blue-y silver flash!

This was a lovely, eye catching polish that makes a change from the regular hot pinks!

Pompeii Purple is in the core range so available from http://www.lenawhite.co.uk/store/pinks/pompeii-purple now

A Little Bit of Fun!

Hello! As its the summer holidays here I thought I would do a little fun post! Emmy is not allowed nail polish at school (quite right!) so when it is the holidays she is always on at me to do her nails, so here is Emmy getting her nails did! After her mani/pedi she had to sit still for a fair while, not easy when you are 5!

Matching mummy and Emmy pedi! Done with A England Tristam

Matching A England Lady Of The Lake mani!

Also thought I would show you my new improved storage system, I moved all my recipe books to make room!

Top from left to right is Drug Store brands, Color Club and Leighton Denny (the square bottles fit great!) Chona Glaze, Ciate, Orly, Zoya, Nails Inc, A England, Funky Fingers and Finger paints and the last box is purely OPI!

Bottom row left to right, mini's of all sorts of brands, treatments inc topcoats, base coats, cuticle oil, drying drops and sparkly topcoats, last box is for files, cuticle sticks and bits and bobs :)

It works very well but can't wait to get proper storage when I move!

NOTD OPI - DS Bold

Morning lovely followers! I would say thank goodness it's the weekend but being a stay at home mum, and it being the summer holidays the days all meld into one!

Today I have another polish from the much loved and rather expensive OPI Designer Series!

This here is Bold, a red polish with red and silver glitter, when I say glitter I mean this is loaded with the stuff!

On my skin tone I felt this pulled pink rather than red but that may also be the silver glitter making it less of a full on red

This truly sparkles in the sun, in fact it sparkles all the time but in the sun it really is a glitter bomb!

Application was so so, the glitter made it drag so had to load the brush quite well, I also had to run my finger across the free edge of my nail to clear the poky bits of glitter hanging off the end!

Removal wasn't too bad, the tin foil method had it off in 5 minutes per hand but I did have to scrape off a few stubborn bits of glitter that refused to budge otherwise!

I got this with my much loved Magic polish from the lovely http://www.buyapowa.com/ but honestly I would not pay £16.75 a bottle for this on its own. I thought that compared to some of the other amazing DS shades that this seemed to feel more like a regular OPI polish!

NOTD - OPI I Have A Herring Problem

Today's nail is described on the OPI site as a shimmering green-blue, but to me this is a grey-blue!

I do love it though, I was a bit unsure when seeing it in the bottle as it looked far more grey in real life and I have never been one for the grey or greige trend but this was much more blue based and the fine silver shimmer won me over!

The colour suits my skin tone perfectly but not sure how it would fair with warmer toned ladies!

Application was a breeze, apart from having only a mini bottle meant mini brush and as my favourite thing about OPI is the pro-wide brush, I find small. thin brushes a bit hard to work with, hence the bald spot on my ring finger!

In the shade you can really see the grey tone to this polish

I actually really like this polish and only tried it on a whim as I didn't think it would suit me or that I would actually like it!

I Have A Herring Problem is part of the Holland collection for Spring/Summer 2012 and is available from Lena White

NOTD - Pimped Up Pink Friday

Well look at these nails, looks like a fairy has pooped fairy dust on them!

Whilst I did quite like Pink Friday on its own, I felt a little old to carry off the Pepto Bismo pink, so thought I would try a pink holo glitter topcoat over it!

Er, yeah, still too old! Of course my super girly 5 year old was well impressed and loved them ha!

Strangely for a holo, the holo of this unamed Color Club polish was undetectable in the sunlight! But it shows the sparkle well!

I had to blur the macro in the sun to try and bring out the cololur and got a few bits here and there!

In the shade the holo, multicoloured shimmer springs to life and is beautiful! But think I will try this over a hot pink as that is much more me!

Overall whilst this colour is sparkly and pretty eye catching I did feel a bit silly with these at the age of 32! Needless to say this was removed after just 2 days and would have been sooner had I had time!

Color Club is hard to get in the UK but there are some packs floating around in TK Maxx stores so keep an eye out!

NOTD - OPI Pink Friday

Today I bring you quite possibly the pinkiest of pinks in the land! It is the most full on pink I have seen in a pastel colour, I think it is white based for coverage but not chalky as some white based pastels can be

This is a simple creme polish, no shimmer, no glitter and no bells and whistles, would you believe these pictures have no topcoat! This is why I adore OPI!

Application was a breeze, streak city on the first coat, self levelling on the second and full coverage! This is two coats on the pictures

This is a brilliant polish from OPI, but alas, I think I am about 10 years too old for a pink this girly and sweet, my 5 year old daughter is of course, impressed!

Pink Friday is from the Nicki Minaj Collection and is a little hard to find now but is available from this Amazon seller, who I have used http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/browse.html?ie=UTF8&marketplaceID=A1F83G8C2ARO7P&me=A32ER39GS0M8W6

NOTD - OPI Number One Nemesis

Ok, so this is the second of my two Spiderman collection polishes, and the second made with the baddie in mind, wonder if that says anything about me!

In the shade this is a steely, murky grey colour with a great shimmer but not frosty enough to create dreaded stroke marks or highlight any flaws on the nail, which I am lucky enough not to have (thanks Nail Envy!)

I waited 3 days to photograph this in the sun but gave up and ended up sitting indoors, on my sofa with my hand by the window waiting for the few seconds of sunshine that kept coming and going! This was after sitting in my freezing cold garden for half hour and getting nothing! Ah the things we beauty bloggers do!

The next three pictures show why I wanted to get sunlight shots! Hidden within the grey/silver base is a multitude of multi coloured micro glitter particles, used macro blurred here to get a real sight of the sparkles!

This was another really hardwearing polish from OPI, I only changed it as I get bored easily! Application was good, covered nicely in 2 coats but I ended up using 3 to take it to full opacity.

Number One Nemesis is available for a limited period from http://www.lenawhite.co.uk/store/spiderman/number-one-nemesis

NOTD - Spiderman, Spiderman.....

Does whatever a spider can.....

Actually this polish is dedicated to the Lizard who is the baddie in the new Spiderman film!

Say hello to Just Spotted The Lizard

In the sun this is an amazing shimmery gold, not usually my colour but well you know my love of duochromes by now!

The green is hard to capture in the sun, but I just about got it here by blurring the photo!

Here is the bottle shot in the shade, the colours look amazing!

In this shot taken in the shade you can really see the green!

These pictures are taken after 4 days of application now, not sure if this is due to the outstanding quality of OPI or if it is my amazing new Designer Series topcoat! The Spiderman series won't be around forever so get them now at http://www.lenawhite.co.uk/
