Me, my weight and I!

of my weight that is! I have become a bit stuck, I go between eating rubbish and barely eating depending on my mood. I managed a solitary Zumba class since the holidays started and now my instructor is off until the kids go back anyway! Last week I stepped on the scales and was 15st 13.5lb, so close to going back into the 16's! Scared me a bit as I don't want to get back to there. So cut back a bit and as pleased when the scales showed 15st 10.5lb. But I know I can do better, I have devised a fitness plan I can do while the small people are off school and I have taken some measurements as well as my weight so even on the days the scales don't shift I can check those too. My mum is back to bike riding so 3 or 4 times a week, once the kids go back, I am dragging her with me to the woods and she can cycle and I can run, I love running and want to get back into it. Coupled with Zumba and some light weights plus a healthier attitude to food and I will start shifting weight again I will also be using this website http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ as its really good for keeping track of things and its FREE!

Meek and feeble post inside

(picture from http://icanhascheezburger.com/)

So I had better update my weight battles. In the past few weeks I have put on 7lb, after my dramatic drop after not eating when I split up with B my body went a bit mad and when I started eating again I put on 4lb straight away.
Kept my weight stable for 3 weeks now and once the kids return to school I fully intend to do Zumba once a week, walking/running 3 or 4 times too and be more concious about what I am eating.
I have though, lost most of my worries regarding my weight. I have been on a few shopping sprees and have really enjoyed trying new things, including getting rid of the horrendous baggy, wide legged MATERNITY trousers that were like my comfort blanket!
Gok Wan's range at Sainsburys is a heaven for those of us with boobs, hips and booty! I now have 4 pairs of his Jodhpurs, a pair of jeggings (6 months ago I would have run away screaming!) I even have a teal and pink pair of jeans!
I also treated myself to these babies

So while my weight loss has taken a detour, I feel and look better than I have in a long time. The end of my relationship has given me a push to find the real me and once parts of my life are sorted I will somehow find the funds to do a make-up artist course and a nail course, its something I love and enjoy and without sounding too big headed it is something I am good at!

Once I get the kids off to school my focus will be my health and not my dress size! Of course losing a couple of them would be nice I won't lie!

weigh in..... week 10

So I feel a bit in two minds about this weeks weight loss. It is the result of one of the most stressful weeks of my life, which resulted in me living off of sugary tea.

But every cloud and all that, so here is my second sparkly silver 7, I got this as I lost 9lb this week. See, bitter sweet. Its not a good loss to have by any means, sure they do it on The Biggest Loser, but they are generally a heck of a lot larger than me.

I also got my 5%, am hoping that now that I am able to eat again that I won't put too much on, although appetite is still very small.

This weeks weight is 15st 5lb. 17lb off since I started and 4lb to my next silver 7!

Weigh in..... week 9

Sorry for the woe is me face, 3lb on this week. 3 big fat pounds! I did eat out and we had a takeaway BUT I cut back the rest of the week so I am gutted!

I am due on and resisting the urge to melt 5lb of chocolate and suck it through a straw!

Onwards and downwards!

Weigh in...... week 8

Yep, big fat nothing. Stayed the same at 15st 11lb. But I am happy with that. Which may sound odd, but you know what? This week has been a pretty crap week food wise.
I felt a little out of control, especially on Sunday when Callum turned 13 and there was Marks and Spencers birthday cake, not Colin the Caterpillar but glorious fondant icing covered vanilla sponge. I promise I am not really drooling while typing this (note, I break promises easily!) But this is also a week where yes, I ate the wrong things, but instead of just giving up and having a total binge I just cut down on other things in the day time.

Back to it this week, can get my 5% next week if I lose another 1lb. Only 3lb to my next sparkly 7 as well. One month until my birthday and I would like to lose enough to get a new dress!

weigh in..... week 7

So, last week I set myself a mini goal to get into the 15st bracket. So was very pleased at class this week to find I was 15st and 11lb! A loss of 3.5lb since my previous weigh in.

I am really happy with that and am striving to lose a nice amount for my birthday in April, that is my next little mini goal for myself.

I feel really positive about my weight loss now and can actually feel it in my clothes and see it in my face and on my waist now. Happy Happy!

weigh in...... or erm, not!

Well, what can I say about this week?

First off, its has been a bitch of a week. Well and truly. Thursday I started feeling unwell and by Saturday I was rough as a badgers bum. So when the other half offered to get a Chinese, well I didn't say no.
Monday Callum had his operation, so Sunday night was not a good night for sleeping. Emmy had the cold by then but still wanted to go to lunch and shopping. So after (tsk tsk) skipping breakfast I had a burger and fries in McDonald's.
Yesterday was a pretty horrendous day, Emmy had a tummy bug. Kebab for dinner as was meant to weigh in this morning and a shish kebab is not a bad choice, but after 3 take-aways I was scared for this morning.
But I couldn't weigh in, not sure I would have left Emmy even for half an hour but my poor mum is now poorly so there was no way I was going to ask her to babysit.
I did hop on my home scales, which are a good pound or so heavier than the scales at my club, soooo they said 16st 0.25lb. Which means I think I might be in the 15's next week.

Halle-bloody-lujah!

Emmy seems to be recovering, my cold is all but gone and *touches wood furiously* Callum has been quarantined from his sister and shows no signs of having a bug. Bit moody after his op, but hey, he is a teenager in 11 days *gulp*

We have guests on Saturday, so going to use my weekly points and have a little cake. I think I deserve a little treat after this week. So there, negativity and illness BE GONE! I have weight to lose and this ain't gonna stop me!

weigh in.....4th week

Ah well, being a woman sometimes sucks! Monday I was attacked by some biscuits in my need to sate my pmt cravings. Not the end of the world and clawed back the points, but that and the water retention that seems to happen since passing 30 have meant a gain.

Only half a pound, nowt too sad. 16st 0.5lb today. Next week I WILL get into the 15's!

In the meantime, stay out of my way. This bitch bites....

Normal service will be resumed in 5 days!

Weigh in.....3rd week

Hello! Another good week for me, 1lb off! 8lb in 3 weeks of Weight Watchers. Next week I want to be in the 15's again, which is a little mini goal of mine!
I feel really positive, the weight is coming off nicely. Going to up my walking this week and once I feel a bit more confident I shall start running again eeeek!

I am honestly glad that I have made the change back to Weight Watchers, it really does the trick for me as it keeps me mindful of portion sizes.

Are any of you still doing new year weight loss plans or are you struggling?

Weigh in.....

So, less of a loss this week. 0.5lb BUT please with that as I got my sparkly silver 7

Can't really see it in this picture so..........

I made my own! With nail polish of course, I am a beauty blogger after all! (OPI Bring On The Bling in case you wondered!

Whilst my loss was smaller this week, after a hefty loss in week one it is to be expected. Never lost 7lb in two weeks before so I am insanely happy.

Hopefully I can get under the next stone bracket next week. Really going to get this weight off once and for all this time, cannot keep letting depression keep me fat.

So drum roll please....... my weigh in

Went to Weight Watchers yesterday, I knew I had lost and thought, being first week and all that it would be about 3-4lb.

So tentatively removed all my baggage, believe me when I say that if the sight of my in my scanties wouldn't cause me to kill the elderly in the class then I would be standing on those scales in my kecks! I was scared, always am, no matter how good or bad a week I have had I am scared. Witless! Although being a morning weigh in the shaking may have been more to do with a lack of food and of course my caffeine fix that I normally have 2 or 3 shots of before 9.30!

So there I was, standing on the scales and I nearly pass out, I look at the number and am in total disbelief, I don't think the babble that came out after made a blind bit of sense to the woman weighing me......

I was 16st 1.5lb, if you follow my blog you will know that last week I was 16st 8lb. So I lost 6.5lb, me, really now?!

As awful as this will sound, I am now petrified the scales were wrong and that next week I might show a gain as it was wrong this week. Silly eh, but having done all manner of diets, healthy eating plans, exercise plans etc I have lost more on this first week than I have ever done, even when I used to live on diet coke and little else.

But I guess time will tell, as long as I am super good this week then next week should see a result, maybe I will get my first silver 7!

Are any of you doing new years weight loss plans?

I took the plunge....

A week earlier than I was meant to, but I got a voucher in the post for a free meeting and registration for Weight Watchers and on Wednesday at 9.50am I looked on the site to see when and where my nearest class was for the following week, only to see that there was one starting at 10am at my local leisure centre!
In a fit of spontaneity I leapt up, grabbed my bits and almost flew to the place! Was nervous as heck, but I did it, am all signed up and really, really enjoying being back on the plan. I know it like an old friend and find that it really helps me.

So, *big breath* my starting weight is 16st 8lb. Before Christmas I was 16st 12lb, so not bad little head start!
Each week, hopefully on a Wednesday I shall blog my ups and downs and how I am finding the plan

Here is to me being on track and staying there :)

Biting the Bullet....

After my post on my hopes for the new year it is high time I bite the bullet and go back to Weight Watchers. I have been at Slimming World for some time, and as much as I love my leader, and working there, the plan isn't for me. So on the 18th of January (too skint for now!) I shall be going back! Hopefully I will be going from this -

To this! And yes, that does include being a different colour too, when I get to goal I am toying with a totally different hair colour!

I look forward to a day when this doesn't apply to me -

Haha! I used to have a blog about my weight loss when I lost my original weight before falling preegnant with Emmy. So I shall do the same this time around, maybe it will keep me on track and maybe it will inspire others who struggle.

So, here is to the start of a new positive, happy and healthier me.

Musing about weight loss

Or lack of it at the moment!
Losing weight is hard, no 2 ways about it. It is even harder in the holidays! My loss has stayed at 12lb since the start of the 6 week break. Which in itself is an achievement! One of the worst things is that for the past 2 weeks I have not had breakfast or lunch, I have just been pick, pick picking! A dieters downfall.
For me, and most mums, the new start for regimes and resolutions is really when the kids go back after the long holiday. In fact my diary even starts in the September and not January!
Once I am back into the swing of things and routine is back in place, I can then focus on my healthy living again.
I will get back to planning meals properly, me and my best mate will start going to classes again, and I will get back to running. I also start studying again, how scary!
But change is good, also want to get on with having another baby if not Mr Mad wants a dog, I much prefer babies!
So Slimming World better save me some stickers as I will be earning them again soon!

Time for a change.

So, How To Be A Woman, see previous blog, has changed my way of thinking.
I spend £12 a week on magazines. Quite shocking really, but its always been a joy of mine. But reading the book has made me question why. Why do I take pleasure in the fractured lives of celebrities, or non celebrities as is becoming more common since the explosion of TOWIE and Made In Chelsea, both shows I have no interest in. Why do I read about celebs gaining and losing weight, when I for one know the misery? How would I feel if my fluctuating weight was printed in the press for all to see, circled in red as if it is a crime against humanity?
The constant criticism of what people wear, something I took pleasure in looking at and guffawing, now makes me feel rather uncomfortable. Who am I to judge? I do not walk out of the house looking like I have stepped off a catwalk, hell, I have one pair of trousers just for leaving the house in as I know they fit nice! I have an ever rotating pile of tops I wear as they are unassuming and blend me into the background. Yet I feel I am qualified to laugh at others, splashed across magazines while people comment with an air of derision.
These magazines have lost their sparkle to me, I don't have the same pleasure reading them as I once did. Maybe now I can work on reading my massive book collection that has been left languishing!
Yes, I maintain an interest in fashion, but for the work, the art and flamboyance. But no longer am I going to buy the magazines (except Grazia!) instead the money shall go to a new me.......

I want to change my 'style' for I currently have none! My £12 a week is going to go into me, I am going to save it (well buy vouchers as I am crap at saving!) I want to change how I look, I want to look like a 31 year old. Not the non-entity that I feel I am at the moment.
So my first purchase will hopefully be a kimono jacket, I have a hankering. Plus I can still wear it with my trousers and tops whilst I make my transition!
After that I want to scour the shops for some dresses, WITH SLEEVES! Which are quite hard to get, teamed with opaques and the boots I adore (Thanks hubby!) I need to look after me. I hardly wear make-up, never wear my hair down and always look the same.

This is my pledge, to myself. Look after yourself, care about yourself and love yourself. I deserve it!
