Comparison - Leighton Denny Meteor Match vs OPI Katy Perry Not Like The Movies

I will admit that when it comes to nail polish I have a slight obsession with duo chromes, in fact I luffs them lots and happily tilt my nails this way and that to see the changes. So when I got my mitts on Meteor Match I was so excited.

Sadly it fell flat for me, a beautiful polish, pale blue one way, light lilac the other and studded with teeny glitter that looks like stars. 3 coats for full coverage the duo chrome just didn't do it for me.

Then I got Not Like The Movies from Katy Perry's collaboration with OPI and my heart swelled! This shows index and ring finger with Not Like the Movies and Pinky and middle finger with Meteor Match.

In this pic the OPI is lilac and the Leighton Denny is pale blue.

In this the OPI is green and the Leighton Denny is ever so slightly lilac.

This picture really captures the obvious changes in the OPI whereas the Leighton Denny is much more subtle.

Lilac, can you see the starry night type glitter?

Green (how many times do you think I might have wiggled my fingers in the light?!)

Overall, I love the Leighton Denny polish, but it was just too pale for me and the duo chrome not evident enough. I got the effect and colour I wanted with the OPI which also has the tiny, starry night type glitter which sadly is not apparent in most of the pictures. The OPI coated my nails in 2 coats, dried as quick as you like and lasted 6 days with just tip wear before I changed my polish!

Again, being from a collection (sorry about that!) the OPI is only available on ebay.
Metoer Match is available on QVC and Leighton Denny's website

Weigh in.....3rd week

Hello! Another good week for me, 1lb off! 8lb in 3 weeks of Weight Watchers. Next week I want to be in the 15's again, which is a little mini goal of mine!
I feel really positive, the weight is coming off nicely. Going to up my walking this week and once I feel a bit more confident I shall start running again eeeek!

I am honestly glad that I have made the change back to Weight Watchers, it really does the trick for me as it keeps me mindful of portion sizes.

Are any of you still doing new year weight loss plans or are you struggling?

NOTD - Dutch'ya Just Love OPI!

This is a gorgeous shade of cool purple, with a gorgeous gold shimmer. It was a nightmare to catch the gold even in bright sunlight!

This picture shows how perfect it is for cool skinned girls like me, even though it has the gold shimmer it retains its cool shade. Sadly this suffered tipwear after two days but have been a bit less careful than usual.

I think this picture just about captures the gorgeous shimmer, especially on my middle and ring fingers!

This does have a beautiful shine, and although its got shimmer, it applies beautifully as OPI creme polishes tend to. Two coats to full opacity, this makes me happy

Dutch'ya Just Love OPI! is from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection named the Holland Collection. A full collection of 12 colours! Available from Lena White from February.

Weigh in.....

So, less of a loss this week. 0.5lb BUT please with that as I got my sparkly silver 7

Can't really see it in this picture so..........

I made my own! With nail polish of course, I am a beauty blogger after all! (OPI Bring On The Bling in case you wondered!

Whilst my loss was smaller this week, after a hefty loss in week one it is to be expected. Never lost 7lb in two weeks before so I am insanely happy.

Hopefully I can get under the next stone bracket next week. Really going to get this weight off once and for all this time, cannot keep letting depression keep me fat.

NOTD - OPI Catch Me In Your Net

This is a beauty of a polish, when I heard the name I assumed it was part of the Pirates of The Caribbean collection as the colour looks like a shimmery mermaid tail. In fact it is from the Summer Flutter collection of 2010, inspired by butterflies.

This is a beautiful, foiled green with flecks of blue, green and turquoise shimmer. It absolutely dances in the light!

Application was a breeze, I used 3 thin coats as two left just a hint of Visible Nail Line (VNL) it dried super quickly as most shimmers do. I ruined the look a little by using Chip Skip before the last coat was dry and it caused drag lines and made the polish patchy tsk tsk!

Catch Me In Your Net is discontinued, as the collections sell out quite quickly unless they stay in the core range. But if you are lucky it can be found on ebay or a good dupe is Charla by Zoya http://www.lucyrose.biz/zoya-nail-polish-14ml---charla-4105-p.asp

So drum roll please....... my weigh in

Went to Weight Watchers yesterday, I knew I had lost and thought, being first week and all that it would be about 3-4lb.

So tentatively removed all my baggage, believe me when I say that if the sight of my in my scanties wouldn't cause me to kill the elderly in the class then I would be standing on those scales in my kecks! I was scared, always am, no matter how good or bad a week I have had I am scared. Witless! Although being a morning weigh in the shaking may have been more to do with a lack of food and of course my caffeine fix that I normally have 2 or 3 shots of before 9.30!

So there I was, standing on the scales and I nearly pass out, I look at the number and am in total disbelief, I don't think the babble that came out after made a blind bit of sense to the woman weighing me......

I was 16st 1.5lb, if you follow my blog you will know that last week I was 16st 8lb. So I lost 6.5lb, me, really now?!

As awful as this will sound, I am now petrified the scales were wrong and that next week I might show a gain as it was wrong this week. Silly eh, but having done all manner of diets, healthy eating plans, exercise plans etc I have lost more on this first week than I have ever done, even when I used to live on diet coke and little else.

But I guess time will tell, as long as I am super good this week then next week should see a result, maybe I will get my first silver 7!

Are any of you doing new years weight loss plans?
