Nail Rock Nail Wraps

These have been floating around in my nail polish collection for a while, I would get them out, look at them and decide they looked like too much work!

But look how great they look on!

This is my right hand, applied with my left hand. Not quite so smooth as the ones on my left hand!

This is after just 8 hours of doing stuff in the day!

The ends really annoyed me, I mean REALLY annoyed me, catching on my hair, my hand bag, my cardigan, just annoying!

This is them less than 24 hours after applying!

So my overall impressions? I adored the look, I have no patience for nail art with brushes and stamping etc, so these are an easy ish way to achieve the look.
Application wise, they are pretty easy. They do take longer than polishing but obviously you don't have drying time! I did find that the sizes in here were not any good for me, I had to trim them all down as my nails are thin.

They do claim these last up to 10 days if you are careful, and they did stick well in fact they were hard to peel off! But they felt too thick for me. I would try the Metallic Silver ones for a night out.

For £6.95 you get 16 stickers, only really worth 1 application if you have long nails like me. A pack of 20 would be much nicer, and I think they should be available in different widths.

Nail Rock Wraps are available from Boots

Weigh in...... week 8

Yep, big fat nothing. Stayed the same at 15st 11lb. But I am happy with that. Which may sound odd, but you know what? This week has been a pretty crap week food wise.
I felt a little out of control, especially on Sunday when Callum turned 13 and there was Marks and Spencers birthday cake, not Colin the Caterpillar but glorious fondant icing covered vanilla sponge. I promise I am not really drooling while typing this (note, I break promises easily!) But this is also a week where yes, I ate the wrong things, but instead of just giving up and having a total binge I just cut down on other things in the day time.

Back to it this week, can get my 5% next week if I lose another 1lb. Only 3lb to my next sparkly 7 as well. One month until my birthday and I would like to lose enough to get a new dress!

NOTD - OPI Fly

Ok, so I was going to review the new Estee Lauder BB Cream today, but I have a nasty bout of conjunctivitis! Perils of working in a school I guess.

Instead, I have another nail post.

Today this post features Fly from the OPI and Nicki Minaj collection. This after Metallic 4 Life was one that really caught my eye

It is a glorious teal creme polish, part of me was a little disappointed at it is not as blue as it is in this pictures and in fact all pictures I have seen of this have shown it to be bluer than it is in real life!

Application was a dream, OPI formulas for their cremes are honestly second to none, I could have got away with two coats here but went for three to fix them up a bit after spotting some cotton wool stuck in two nails!

See the shine on the middle finger nail? Believe it or not this is with no top coat! I think I will add a topcoat today purely to protect the polish, it certainly doesn't need any help in the shine department!

I think this shows how smoothly this applies on the nail. This is over two coats of Nail Envy which I use as a basecoat.

Even in the shade you can see the shine!

Fly is available from Lena White Amazon and in a mini set from QVC

New Years Resolutions - mini update

So, already it is nearing the end of February! How did THAT happen? Is it just me or is the time just whizzing by? In tow days I am actually going to be the mother of a bona fide teenager, a real life 13 year old eeeeeekkkk!

Anyway, I thought every now and then I would update on how my resolutions are coming along. So here it is...

To be nicer to myself.

Hmm. Well not much I can say on this one. I am still quite negative about myself and am trying to stop, hard habit to break though! I am though, having earlier nights, drinking less and eating better. my old favourite resolution too - better skin care routine, well actually starting one would be good!

To Be more healthy.

This one is actually going quite well so far. 11lb off since mid January isn't bad going if I say so myself *big grin* I am also trying to add more vegetables and fruit into my diet. Veg is not something I enjoy at all, so this is proving tough. But the fruit is easier. Shall really knuckle down soon and pick up on exercising again. The nicer weather has made me want to get out and walk and sometimes run, but baby steps - walking lots first.

To be more selective.

Again this has not gone so well, still not getting the beauty boxes and do sometimes feel like I missed out a little! But the past two months have seen me paying off various money that I owed people. Birthdays too has left a skint me! But I did get some bargainous OPI polishes, so that is a start!

To Get My Relationship back.

Well tis one got way worse before it got better. But things are better, much much better. Hopefully things will continue to get better now we both know we want to be together and want to work at things.

I started my TA job, I like it, pop paracetomol on my return home but hey ho! I am already being given more responsibility with some of the children.

NOTD - OPI Swimsuit......Nailed it! (picture heavy)

Todays Nail of the day is this breathtaking shade

This lovely shade is from the Miss Universe collection of Summer 2011

Although its from a hard to get collection, it is available if you search

In the sunlight this simply sings and I can't stop looking at it!

Look at the shine, shimmer and sparkle!

The beautiful bright blue foil was a dream to apply and dried quickly as shimmers do

I have experienced tipwear very quickly but will be topping up with an extra cot and using a topcoat, and being more careful as my hands have been busy today and my nails suffered!

Even in the shade the colour is just so beautiful

I am so glad I finally got myself this, it was well worth the wait and am not sure when I will remove this even though I have me a bottle of Fly to try next!

This is still available to from Amazon and Beauty Bay

weigh in..... week 7

So, last week I set myself a mini goal to get into the 15st bracket. So was very pleased at class this week to find I was 15st and 11lb! A loss of 3.5lb since my previous weigh in.

I am really happy with that and am striving to lose a nice amount for my birthday in April, that is my next little mini goal for myself.

I feel really positive about my weight loss now and can actually feel it in my clothes and see it in my face and on my waist now. Happy Happy!

NOTD - OPI DS Diamond

First off I must apologise for this review as this is a rare and hard to find polish now. If you are lucky you might find it on ebay, good luck with that!

This polish was so so hard to photograph while capturing the holo, it is a holo but it is subtle. It is a beautiful dusky lilac with a subtle rainbow holo and diamond dust.

This picture shows me testing the OPI Nicki Minaj Super Bass Shatter, plus a cheeky repair on a split so ring finger not looking its best! My pinkie finger shows the immense shine from this polish, I didn't use a topcoat as I felt it would ruin the glorious finish on this polish.

More shimmery sparkles in the sun, yes folks, the UK has sun!

I can detect the holo on my middle finger in this picture, see? Subtle but there.

Again I think I *just* captured the holo on the thumb here. Considering my previous history of using a holo with no topcoat (oh hi chips, 3 hours and already here!) I am impressed. I used 3 thin coats to give me an opaque finish and drying time was impressive and so smooth. Far easier than the Gosh holo! This picture is day 3 and all there is is minor tipwear.

The newer Designer range are still infused with diamond dust but do not have the holo from what I have heard. But I am still lemming hard for Magic and Radiance. Nearly my birthday so think they may be a purchase!
