weigh in..... week 10

So I feel a bit in two minds about this weeks weight loss. It is the result of one of the most stressful weeks of my life, which resulted in me living off of sugary tea.

But every cloud and all that, so here is my second sparkly silver 7, I got this as I lost 9lb this week. See, bitter sweet. Its not a good loss to have by any means, sure they do it on The Biggest Loser, but they are generally a heck of a lot larger than me.



I also got my 5%, am hoping that now that I am able to eat again that I won't put too much on, although appetite is still very small.



This weeks weight is 15st 5lb. 17lb off since I started and 4lb to my next silver 7!

NOTD - OPI Your Royal Shine-ness

I was so excited when I got this polish, but on receiving it I was a little disappointed, its a pretty bog standard silver foil



I was expecting brush strokes and ridges galore with this as many foil formulas highlight every little sin your nails may have! That wasn't the case with this and it looks pretty spectacular in direct sunlight



I thought that I could see teeny, and I mean teeny, coloured shimmer within the silver base but thought my eyes were playing tricks until I did these two close up shots with the light on them! Shame they weren't more apparent in real life but then maybe they aren't meant to be and its a trick of the light :)





Wear has been good, still looking good 5 days post application with minimal tipwear, the shine has dulled so if you want to wear it longer a topcoat on day 3 would refresh it. All the above pictures have no topcoat

NOTD - OPI Wing It!

This is another from the Summer Flutter collection that is hard to find, sorrrrrrry!

This is the polish, I just HAD to take pictures in a shop as the bright lights really captured the blue glitter suspended in this jelly polish!



This is my first use of a jelly polish, it took 4 coats to get opacity, but it was worth it!



Believe it or not these are taken with no top coat, jelly finish = incredible shine!



This picture shows of the duochrome, being pink into orange it isn't a wow duochrome but it is enough to make me stare at my wiggling fingers! Anyone else do that?



It is a beautiful polish, but felt squishy the whole time it was on my fingers and was an odd sensation when it rubbed against a hard surface!



This is a beautiful polish, far more understated than Catch Me In Your Net but worth the wait!

Weigh in..... week 9

Sorry for the woe is me face, 3lb on this week. 3 big fat pounds! I did eat out and we had a takeaway BUT I cut back the rest of the week so I am gutted!

I am due on and resisting the urge to melt 5lb of chocolate and suck it through a straw!

Onwards and downwards!

NOTD - Zoya Tao

Today's polish is from the Zoya collection, Smoke and Mirrors from Autumn 2011. I do love new nail polish but sometimes the new collections drive me mad as often they have many that I seriously end up lemming after, then boom - another new collection alert! Either that or like OPI they end up being removed from the range and end up seriously hard to get!

Anyhoo, this is from the Mirrors part of the collection and when this says taken in sunlight, that was kind of a lie since the sun was not really playing ball!



I had been after this polish for a while, but was really disappointed.



It was streaky and showed up brushstrokes, a big hate of mine. It wasn't a true metallic so really the brush strokes are pretty unforgivable!



Length wise, I think the fact I had to use 3 coats to even it out left it susceptible to chips and by the end of day one I had to patch up two nails.



It is a shame I don't like this, I love pewter polishes and this one would have been perfect had it been ever so slightly shinier and nicer to apply. This does have teeny tiny particles of pink and green micro glitter.



Overall I would not purchase the full size of this. But it doesn't put me off Zoya and I have never been disappointed before, this was just a dud for me.
Zoya is hard to find in the UK but ebay have some reputable sellers and it is available here but I have not used them so look up reviews first.

Nail Rock Nail Wraps

These have been floating around in my nail polish collection for a while, I would get them out, look at them and decide they looked like too much work!


But look how great they look on!





This is my right hand, applied with my left hand. Not quite so smooth as the ones on my left hand!




This is after just 8 hours of doing stuff in the day!



The ends really annoyed me, I mean REALLY annoyed me, catching on my hair, my hand bag, my cardigan, just annoying!




This is them less than 24 hours after applying!



So my overall impressions? I adored the look, I have no patience for nail art with brushes and stamping etc, so these are an easy ish way to achieve the look.
Application wise, they are pretty easy. They do take longer than polishing but obviously you don't have drying time! I did find that the sizes in here were not any good for me, I had to trim them all down as my nails are thin.

They do claim these last up to 10 days if you are careful, and they did stick well in fact they were hard to peel off! But they felt too thick for me. I would try the Metallic Silver ones for a night out.

For £6.95 you get 16 stickers, only really worth 1 application if you have long nails like me. A pack of 20 would be much nicer, and I think they should be available in different widths.

Weigh in...... week 8

Yep, big fat nothing. Stayed the same at 15st 11lb. But I am happy with that. Which may sound odd, but you know what? This week has been a pretty crap week food wise.
I felt a little out of control, especially on Sunday when Callum turned 13 and there was Marks and Spencers birthday cake, not Colin the Caterpillar but glorious fondant icing covered vanilla sponge. I promise I am not really drooling while typing this (note, I break promises easily!) But this is also a week where yes, I ate the wrong things, but instead of just giving up and having a total binge I just cut down on other things in the day time.

Back to it this week, can get my 5% next week if I lose another 1lb. Only 3lb to my next sparkly 7 as well. One month until my birthday and I would like to lose enough to get a new dress!
