Find your foundation shade.......

in any brand at the click of a button!

Yes really! Have you been coloured matched at a counter or found the perfect drug store colour? Want to take advantage of online shops and discounts but unsure on the colour to go for?

Well try this brilliant new website http://findation.com/

You basically add two matches, or more if you have them, and the website finds matches from all sorts of brands, and the brand list is increasing all the time!

I think this website is a fabulous idea! I am not keen on visiting counters after a not so good experience at a Boots No 7 counter! Would have been great if I had wanted to resemble a banana, tasty!

This tells you how much a colour matches, so while there may not be an exact match in a brand it gives you what kind of percentage the match is, which is actually quite accurate! It gave me one example I had tried in a colour I was told would match and didn't, this was given a 53% chance of being a match.

This website is still in the new stages and brands are being added regularly, but you can also add your own faithful brand if it isn't listed.

I will definitely be using this site in the future, especially when make-up websites have special offers that are too good to resist!

Hope you find this website as helpful as I do!

NOTD - OPI I Have A Herring Problem

Today's nail is described on the OPI site as a shimmering green-blue, but to me this is a grey-blue!

I do love it though, I was a bit unsure when seeing it in the bottle as it looked far more grey in real life and I have never been one for the grey or greige trend but this was much more blue based and the fine silver shimmer won me over!

The colour suits my skin tone perfectly but not sure how it would fair with warmer toned ladies!

Application was a breeze, apart from having only a mini bottle meant mini brush and as my favourite thing about OPI is the pro-wide brush, I find small. thin brushes a bit hard to work with, hence the bald spot on my ring finger!

In the shade you can really see the grey tone to this polish

I actually really like this polish and only tried it on a whim as I didn't think it would suit me or that I would actually like it!

I Have A Herring Problem is part of the Holland collection for Spring/Summer 2012 and is available from Lena White

NOTD - Color Club Covered in Diamonds

This blog was a request from a friend of mine who when hearing I had Covered In Diamonds asked me to do a blog post with it over a black base!

So here it is! For this I used MUA nail polish in Shade 2 in two coats for the base and two coats of Covered In Diamonds

This is a pretty jazzy polish and looks like a graphic arty design!

Look at the sparkle in the sunlight, crazy!

The only downside is that this is a thick polish, it kept dragging the flakies to the tips and I had to use the brush to put them evenly over the nail!

Flakes!

I loved this polish, it was almost gel like in finish and even though the feeling of the polish really got on my wick (was not wiling to use any more topcoat!) but I was willing to let that slide!

I think I will wear this more in the winter though as black is not really my bag for summer and can't imagine it working so well over brighter shades but I might give it a go! You could use this alone but my nails are not really suitable and 3 or 4 coats of this is likely to be a thick gloopy mess!

Color Club is hard to find in the UK but some TK Maxx stores have sets, so keep your eyes out people!

NOTD - Pimped Up Pink Friday

Well look at these nails, looks like a fairy has pooped fairy dust on them!

Whilst I did quite like Pink Friday on its own, I felt a little old to carry off the Pepto Bismo pink, so thought I would try a pink holo glitter topcoat over it!

Er, yeah, still too old! Of course my super girly 5 year old was well impressed and loved them ha!

Strangely for a holo, the holo of this unamed Color Club polish was undetectable in the sunlight! But it shows the sparkle well!

I had to blur the macro in the sun to try and bring out the cololur and got a few bits here and there!

In the shade the holo, multicoloured shimmer springs to life and is beautiful! But think I will try this over a hot pink as that is much more me!

Overall whilst this colour is sparkly and pretty eye catching I did feel a bit silly with these at the age of 32! Needless to say this was removed after just 2 days and would have been sooner had I had time!

Color Club is hard to get in the UK but there are some packs floating around in TK Maxx stores so keep an eye out!

NOTD - OPI Pink Friday

Today I bring you quite possibly the pinkiest of pinks in the land! It is the most full on pink I have seen in a pastel colour, I think it is white based for coverage but not chalky as some white based pastels can be

This is a simple creme polish, no shimmer, no glitter and no bells and whistles, would you believe these pictures have no topcoat! This is why I adore OPI!

Application was a breeze, streak city on the first coat, self levelling on the second and full coverage! This is two coats on the pictures

This is a brilliant polish from OPI, but alas, I think I am about 10 years too old for a pink this girly and sweet, my 5 year old daughter is of course, impressed!

Pink Friday is from the Nicki Minaj Collection and is a little hard to find now but is available from this Amazon seller, who I have used http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/browse.html?ie=UTF8&marketplaceID=A1F83G8C2ARO7P&me=A32ER39GS0M8W6

Review 50 Shades Trilogy

By now practically every woman (and I guess some men!) have heard about the 50 Shades books, if not you must be living under a rock!

I actually read these a few months ago after reading a review in a magazine, before the whole lot seemingly became the cult books they are now!

Firstly, I shall say if you like your books to be written with style, substance and experience then these probably aren't for you. You can tell straight off that these are novels by a new writer and if you can ignore that and the sometimes repetitive tones of the books then give them a go!

But I could overlook it and glad I read them before I knew these started off as 'Fan Fiction' based on Edward Cullen and Bella Swan from the Twilight series as to be frank, I am not anywhere near a Twi-Hard and have no desire to be!

The book centres around the frankly, drop dead sexy (yes, I fell for the fictional Mr Grey) Christian Grey and the not-quite-as-annoying-as-Bella Anastasia Steele. From the one Twilight film I have seen, I can honestly see no resemblance of Grey to Cullen but could see where the inspiration for Ana came from, although like I say she is less annoying than Bella.

The love story behind the book is sweet, if a little unbelievable. Yes, some relationships go at warp speed, I for one have been in the situation myself but Ana's doubts mean the ending to me seems a bit silly. I won't give too much away!

But to be honest, what I and I should imagine most people have read these for is the sex, or er, kinky fuckery as its often described in the book! The sex scenes are hot, I won't lie. Also made me wish I was not a single girl when I read them! The BDSM aspect is actually quite well done, having been to the Torture Garden in London many years ago Grey's dominant nature is well written and having met plenty of dominants of both sexes the control aspect is spot on too. Whereas Ana, a virgin at the start of the book not being scared off is a little unbelievable, I was a little scared of the goings on at the Torture Garden and I was not a virgin and nor was I as unwordly as Ana!

The latest in the press suggests that next year will spawn a whole heap of 50 Shades babies in the US and I can see why!

Every single shop that sells books where I live are stripped bare where the 50 Shades trilogys reside, one trip to WH Smiths was greeted by a couple of giggling women thumbing through a solitary copy of 50 Shades Freed and regaling eachother about the first book and how many of their friends had read it or talked about it. Sales of rope have increased in DIY stores, mainly being bought by women, how insane is that?!

All in all, I devoured all 3 books in 4 days, which for me is unheard of! I got mine of the Kindle so no worries about not getting them!

If you haven't read them and want too, you might have a search on your hands, its overtaken Harry Potter as the fastest selling books EVER, if you have read them, what do you think?
Current talks of a film have a few ideas for the two main characters but in my head Grey was Christian Bales (yes, I know he is to old but he has the right amount of bastard in him and looks just right!) and Ana was Anne Hathaway, I will not be that interested if Ana is played by Kristen Stewart as rumours suggest as frankly, she is a misery guts who I am not keen on!
