NOTD Jindie Nails - Candy Land plus bonus musings!

Hello! Been a little busy and didn't realise it had been two weeks since I last blogged, whoops!

So anyway, unless you have been living under a rock you may know that the UK was blanketed in snow this  month. Which inspired me to try Candy Land by Jindie Nails as the beautiful milky base was perfect for a snowy manicure!

This is my first polish I have tried that has matte glitter, but I love it and the fluro colours are amazing and really pop out of the base!

Application was a bit hard, even after storing it upside down, but as I could only get my hands on the mini bottle I think that is why! This is 3 coats and it is fully opaque, glitter placement was fairly uniform, my only problem was on my index finger, I knocked it not long after the mani and the glitter peeled off!

Candy Land has won me over as I wasn't sure the white base is for me, but I LOVE it!

Candy Land is hard to get, but Jen has an Etsy Store here but currently no stock available. Jindie Nails are also now being stocked at my favourite etailer Llarowe hurrah! Also at Mei Mei's Signatures but I haven't purchased from them yet.

Here are some bonus snow pictures, I braved the cold and went in my back garden with Emmy, which I usually avoid, here she is with our snow 'mum'

snow mum and snow baby

pleased with our frankly awful snowmen!

We had a snowball fight after this, lots of fun!

Mean mummy that I am pushed her over in the snow!

We then came inside and had hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows!

It all looked lovely!

My neighbours mad cat, his sister didn't come out until yesterday when all the snow had nearly gone!

Snowmen Emmy built out the front with her father

Silly face!

Have you enjoyed the snow or is it too inconvenient and annoying?

Pretty & Polished True Blue Duo

Hello! Today I have my second set from Pretty & Polished to show you! This spoke to me because I love blue and I love holographic polishes, so a blue holographic that isn't a baby blue? Pass it my way!

The set also includes a glitter topcoat, you can buy as a set or as single polishes

I decided to do a few different nails to show you Thumb and middle finger are Sea Spray on its own. Index finger is Sea Spray with a coat of Bubbles on top. Ring finger is two coats of Bubbles, I know some people who like to wear glitter topcoats alone so thought I would show you! Pinky finger is Sea Spray with Bubbles as a glitter tip!

As I love Holo polish I would keep Sea Spray to wear alone for full effect, but will definitely wear Bubbles over a white next time, its got holo glitter, different shades of blue and even some square glitter, I love glitter that is different to the normal plain hexes!

Here are two pictures with a flash against light as I live in the UK and we have had no sun for days, so the holo in Sea Spray was hiding until I played around with different light settings, but here it is coming out to play on my middle finger!

This blue is an awesome shade for my skintone, I like anything that works well with my paleness (which is finally returning after the accidental tanning of this summer!)

Pretty & Polished is available from here and here and is all made by hand :) which I am kind of in awe of, I wouldn't know where to start!

Pretty & Polished Heavy Metal collection

Good afternoon :)

As you may know by now I love indie polishes, so it will come as no surprise that when offered the chance to buy some and review them before release (well would have been had I not been in the UK!) then you can guess my answer!

Today is the Heavy Metal collection by Pretty & Polished. Name had me first being a heavy metaller :)

First up is House Of Brick, a pinky red shimmer. Unlike some shimmers by a well known brand, these shimmers are full coverage!

The shimmer really is eyecatching and this is 2 coats so fully opaque, impressive!

This went on like a dream, easily some of the best to apply and the below pictures were quite rushed and yet they were perfect!

This started off as my favourite from the collection......

Origins and Endings is a cool, greyed out dark green. This is again a 2 coater

I adore this and think it really suits my cool skin tone

Again, the shimmer is crazy and doesn't need undies!

But for me I think this is the star of the collection!

Romance is Dead, bit apt for me at the moment :D

For some reason this looks patchy but I think it was the light on the insane shimmer!

I used two coats again and instantly fell in love!

Overall I am really impressed with these, the shimmer and colour payoff are amazing. Having purchased shimmers before and having to use them as layering (hello, £10 and no coverage?!) polishes these are great and well worth a purchase!

Pretty & Polished is available from Chels Website here and her Etsy shop here

Go forth and buy!

NOTD Ciate - Caviar nails

Afternoon peeps! How is everyone feeling about back to school times this week? Can't say I am looking forward to the early starts!

Today's post was a mani that literally lasted a day, and I took the pictures pre clean up (whoops!) as I was sure it would be off straight away!

Onto the caviar!

This is done with two products I got from my Ciate Advent calendar! The polish is Ladylike Luxe, and I teamed it with the Bumblebee caviar pearls. Probably not the best combo as Ladylike Luxe dries quite fast so you have to get the pearls on quick!

As soon as I got this set out to use (at my daughters request!) I knew I would be doing an accent nail only!

It took 3 tries to get the beads looking how I wanted as frankly they were a pain!

I ended up picking off the pearls by the evening (tsk tsk) as they were so annoying, but I like the look for a night out. Not something I would wear for a week like my usual mani!

Ciate is a hard brand to find on the high street but they do it here

Have you tried the caviar trend yet?

NOTD 2 True - Shade 4

Hello everyone! Today I have an excellent 'drug store' as in high street to you and me, bargain for you all.
I was immediately drawn to crystal polishes and got 3 all for the grand old price of £5!

I blogged a gorgeous teal here and also love this shade.

It is a real shimmery purple and danced in the lights but the shimmer was even visible in low light

For a high street polish the application was a dream and the wear was amazing!

I keep looking for more of these polishes but they are forever sold out!

2 True polishes are available from most Superdrug stores and seem to always be on 3 for £5!

NOTD Pretty & Polished - Daddy's Girl

Happy New Year to my followers everywhere!

I had a lovely night with my mum and dad and we let Emmy stay up until the fireworks had finished on the tv :)

So I don't really have any resolutions, I never keep them but I have some plans for the new year that I hope to aspire to achieve!

So today I have another lovely indie for you, Pretty & Polished Daddy's Girl

It is a beautiful dusty blue with shiny teal and baby pink glitter and also what I think is hot pink matte glitter! It also includes some lovely pink hearts which I didn't realise until I applied this to my nail wheel!

I was expecting this to be too sheer to wear alone but this is two coats!

Can you see the hearts on my index and pinky fingers?!

This is my right hand hence the odd shot but this shows some more stars but they are quite subtle so might try this with a coat of OPI Nothin' Mousey About It!

I got 8 hearts on one mani without too much dipping and shaking!

I used this with a coat of NPB Glitter food so can barely feel the hearts and they are very secure. Not sure what removal will be like but can't be any harder than full glitter bombs that I frequently wear!

Pretty & Polished have an Etsy Shop here and an online shop here and Glitter Food is available here

NOTD Dollish Polish - It's A Me Mario!

Happy New Years Eve! Any plans? My plans involve staying in! Weather is pretty horrendous and everywhere is expensive! My Sky+ box is currently recording a load of Friends episodes so might enjoy them with a bottle of fizz!

Anyhoo, today's nail features a polish I wasn't sure I would get my mitts on when it was released! As much as I love Llarowe I am not one of the crazy ones who wait for the release and go mad trying to buy! So when I had money and wanted to purchase I browsed the makes and saw THIS!

Dollish was the first Indie maker I heard of and I now have quite the collection!

This is an awesome polish, a clear base (I used Sally Hansen Ruby Rush for undies) with red, blue and turquoise hex glitters and some amazing holo stars!

The stars were hit and miss. The stars on my ring and pinky fingers were ones I fished out and placed on so you can see them clearly.

The ones on my index and middle fingers came out with no help so annoyingly for me got covered with the red and blue glitters!

This is my right hand, hence the rubbish photo! I managed to get at least one star on each nail, getting the stars out was simply a case of replacing the cap and turning over for a few seconds and a few dips and inspections of the brush!

I do not like the feel of glittery polishes so when Leah Ann from Llarowe offered to send me Glitter Food by Nail Pattern Boldness I said yes straight away and it is great! It dries to a satin finish so may do some matte mani's with it soon! Glitter literally sucks it up and makes a smooth base for topcoats!

Both Dollish Polish and Nail Pattern Boldness are available from Llarowe!
